Shark Themed Birthday Party

I am excited to finally post some of the details of Jax’s Shark Themed 5th Birthday Party!

We had originally planned to have a Star Wars birthday party but Jaxson decided to change the theme two months before the party date. #whythough. If you know me, you know I plan MONTHS in advance for any party I am throwing, so that change was a huge challenge for me!

I chose the color scheme of white, orange, yellow, light blue and dark blue after falling in love with a Shark themed party put together by the amazing Kara’s Party Ideas. And I couldn’t have loved it more! If you hit a creative road block when trying to throw a party, make sure to check out her site! She is the definition of “goals” for any themed party!

Jax has always had a great love for sharks. Same with myself. They are such amazing creatures. So when he told me he wanted to have a Shark birthday instead of Star Wars, I was super excited! I thought it would be a super fun idea!

This is our AMAZING shark piñata! My dad made it all from scratch and I couldn’t be more in love with it! It has been a tradition of ours (mine and my dad’s) to make a piñata every year since Jaxson’s 1st birthday!

It’s so much fun to make our own and be so proud of the work. I have been traveling a lot for work so I am so grateful to have such an amazing Dad that is willing to help me with everything! I will be sharing a whole piece about this piñata soon!

Best friends. Seriously?! How cute are they?!

I also made a shark photobooth using cardboard, paint, and a red plastic table cover! It turned out so cute! Jax and his friends loved taking photos in it!

PEEP the rainbow coral in the photobooth photo too! My dad made those using spray foam and spray paint! We had them up all over the yard to give it an extra “ocean” theme!

Here are some of my other favorite details from the party:

Halloween Fabric Printing

I feel like this has been my life motto lately.

YOU GUYS, i’m telling you… i have a lot on my plate. probably more than i can chew. but it’s amazing so far!

But I wanted to tell to tell you about fabric printing! I love it.

Here is a throwback to Jax wearing his “Where my Ho’s at??” Santa shirt that I made in December 2014:

This one was by far one of my favs. It turned out SO cute!

I have a good laugh when I do these and love to do them every year for different things. I think it will be fun for me to show him someday.

Here are a few fun Halloween ones  that I have been wanting to make that you can use too!

  • Creep it real (with a zombie, mummy, or yellow eyes)
  • If you’ve got it, haunt it (with some stars and bats)
  • Witch better have my candy (with witch hat and candy pieces)
  • Bow down witches (with a witch hat and broom)
  • Let’s get sheet faced (with a ghost)
  • Let’s get chocolate wasted (with a chocolate bar)
  • Let’s get smashed (with three pumpkins)

Again, I love screen printing because I can customize things and create almost anything!

Halloween is right around the corner, so share some “boos” and enjoy lovelies! xx-Ray

Candy, And Costumes, And Boos, OH MY!

Halloween is right around the corner and it is one of my favorite holidays! I just love the feel. The excitement that you can feel when getting ready for Halloween.

Candy, costumes, and booze.. oops!, I mean boos! Even though both may be applicable to my annual Halloween festivities. Wine just seems to fit the theme for me.

I am not a fan of “scary” things. Haunted houses, scary movies, clowns.. that is NOT my thing. I just hope that my little human doesn’t get scared of all the boos out there.

I love taking Jax trick or treating. He loves to share candy with me, so of course I am always happy to help him eat it.

Costumes are also super fun! I literally think about costumes in September and start deciding what to dress up as. to continue with my October fun, I thought I would share one of my favorite costumes he has worn thus far.

For jaxson’s first halloween, he wasn’t even a year old yet. I bought him a cute little monkey costume and he hated it. He cried when I put it on him so I ended up just letting him roam around in a pair of  mummy jammers. So last year, I wanted to do something a little more creative, but also keep it simple. I decided to make a gladiator costume!

Costume details:

gold moccasins, you can find similar ones here.
4 pairs of black toddler  crew socks, i believe i found them at our local dollar store.
Black baby bloomers that I borrowed from a friend that has a daughter
Gladiator hat that I found on Amazon so you may be able to find one there also.
toy sword- also found this on Amazon.

The only work I had to do was cut one pair of the socks to make the arm bands- One sock for each arm. And then I used some brown eye liner to draw the abs.

This costume was SO simple.. Really, there was not a whole lot to it! For how simple it was, I couldn’t have loved it more!

I can’t wait to see what we come up with next year and I hope you each have a Halloween full of candy, costumes, and boos! xx-Ray
