Now that Jaxson is in Kindergarten I am constantly on the hunt for pre-packaged snacks for his classmates! Oh, how I wish I could share all the delicious homemade treats we make! It’s a little difficult to find cute and crafty pre-packaged items.
They are having their Christmas party right before their Christmas break this Friday, so I wanted to get a gift for all of his friends. I thought pencils or candy canes, more candy and maybe hot chocolate. There are a variety of options but nothing was quite filling the vision I had.
I walked around Walmart with Jaxson, looking at all the different treat options, and he finally decided on donuts. I could live with donuts. I LOVE donuts! Walmart had a 12-pack of variety donuts for $3!!
We decided that we would make “snowmen” out of the white powdered ones and “reindeer” out of the chocolate covered ones. I bought some brown pipe cleaner for the antlers, wiggle eyes, and red pom poms for the reindeer noses.
We drove home and got to work!
-Donuts- 12 packs of 4 donuts, chocolate and powdered variety pack – I purchased Great Value brand from Walmart, found here. ($3.00 for a pack of 12!!!)
-Wiggle Eyes- Michael’s – used for the eyes of reindeer and snowmen
-Brown Pipe Cleaners – Michael’s -used for the reindeer antlers. One pipe cleaner per donut pack.
-Red Mini Pom Poms – Michael’s – used for the reindeer noses
-Orange Sharpie Marker – used for the snowmen “carrot” noses
-Black Sharpie Marker- used for the snowmen smile and buttons
-Glue – Elmer’s Glue or Glue Stick recommended – used to apply the the eyes and pom poms
-Stapler- used to staple the reindeer antlers and tags to the plastic packaging
-Printed Tags- For the Snowmen, I made a “THERE IS SNOW BETTER FRIEND THAN YOU” tag, and for the Reindeer I made a “YOU LIGHT UP MY DAY” tag. I used Microsoft Word using simple font and clip art.
