Body Hair Care

I am fortunate enough to have a head full of long, luscious locks of hair, which I will talk more about in a future post! I am also unfortunate enough to have hairy underarms, hairy legs, and hairy other places – like all other humans do.

With that being said, I wanted to talk about my body hair care routines! You can wax, shave, tweeze, laser hair removal, etc etc. but I decided to share a few of my personal favorites!

ME. I like to shave. Yes, shaving sucks but there is nothing better than freshly shaved legs and arms after you shower! And yes, I shave my arms. I have tattoos and didn’t spend the hundreds of dollars that I did for them to be covered in hair! I absolutely HATE shaving my underarms, however. They never feel smooth and the hair grows back too fast!  For my underarms, I love to use my epilator! I will talk more about the epilator I use below!

Would I love to do laser hair removal? YES! But it is quite costly and doesn’t currently fit in my budget.

I am not a fan of NAIR. No offense, NAIR. It works, but it just stinks and doesn’t work well with my skin, personally. And I don’t like the do-it-yourself wax strips either. I don’t have enough courage to pull it myself. Ouch! I can barely rip off a bandaid or those black facial peels that make me cry.

Waxing by a professional is great, however! I love getting a wax. I get a wax every month. You have to make sure you grow the hair out beforehand so that the wax has something to grab onto. I like to get my eyebrows waxed and get a Brazilian done every month (that’s for your girly parts, for those of you who don’t know what that is). The pain can be a little unbearable for some, but I have seen a huge change in my hair throughout time. There is less and less of it every time I go.

The only thing I tweeze is my eyebrows. I’ll pluck a hair or two if they are throwing off the shape of my brow.

Here are my favorite products to use!

CaptureCOOCHY by Pure Romance

And NO, it’s not just for a “coochy”. Men can use this stuff too! You can buy this shaving cream from the Pure Romance website also, but I buy a lot of other things from Amazon, so it’s a little more convenient for me. I am a big fan of this stuff though! It smells great and you can even use this as a hair conditioner!!

Gillette Daisy Classic Disposable Razors

CaptureThese have always been my favorite razors. The razors with replaceable heads are great, but I love these disposables. I can take them on my trips with me or just have them handy at home when I need them. They always give me a smooth, clean shave!

Braun Silk-épil 9 Wet & Dry Cordless Epilator

This is my favorite thing! This little thing has tiny tweezers that rotate and pull out the Capturehairs. I use the epilator on my armpits and only have to do it once per month, if that! You can use this for other parts of your body if you wanted to but I personally don’t! It leaves my underarms super smooth. It’s also great because you can use it wet or dry, so you could use it in the bath or shower if you wanted to! FULL DISCLOSURE: This does hurt a little. At least it did for me, the first time I used it. Just a word of caution to others. Maybe I’m just a baby and it won’t hurt you as bad as it did me.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Tweezers

These are my absolute favorite tweezers. If you are looking for a good pair, this might be Capturethem! They are slanted at the bottom and I can tweeze some of my finest hairs with them! Since I have used these, I have never wanted to try another pair. They even come in pink!

All in all- shaving, waxing, tweezing and the epilator are my go-to’s. As you can tell, I have been through a lot of trial and error to find the products I love. Don’t be afraid to try different things to find out what works best for your own body! Don’t use or do something just because everyone else is doing it. Make sure you find products that YOU love!
